5th & 6th Grade Boy's SYB Basketball

The grade 5-6 boy's program for the SYB is geared toward instruction and enjoyment of the game of basketball.   There are two conferences.  Each team in the conference plays one another, and standings are kept.  At the end of the regular season,  playoffs determine the league champion.

Each grade 5-6 boys team practices 1 hour each week, and participates in a scheduled game where each player is provided a chance to hone their newly learned skills. 

IAABO badged referees are used to control the game, instructing the players when rules are violated.  The players are instructed on the violation with an example by the referees. 

It is expected that through the 10 week season, the players will be learning the rudimentary aspects of basketball in a structured environment where fun and fair play will take precedence.
