The grade 4 girl's program for the SYB is geared toward instruction and enjoyment of the game of basketball.   There are no standings, nor scores kept.

Each grade 4 girls event is a 1 hour practice during the week, and scheduled games where each player is provided a chance to hone their newly learned skills in a game situation.

High School student referees are used to control the game, instructing the players when rules are violated.  The players are instructed on the violation with an example by the referees and the ball is returned to the player.
